Yup, we went and bought a sofa today. Not just a sofa, either, a whole durn living room ensemble! Cushy sofa, cushy chair, matching rug, and 3 tables. Looks like this:



Never had "real" furniture before, just random bits of hand-me-downs and store-bought pressboard crap. Kinda makes me feel like a grownup. We're thinking we might do the bedroom once we pay this stuff off. Interest-free financing rocks. :)

Yeah.. part of me doesn't like the idea of a pre-assembled collection of stuff, but hey, they know what they're doing, right? :) It's about time I got a real couch!

Their prices are pretty good, but I generally don't like their whole "room" packages. They look nice and all, but don't fit with our lifestyle. Coffee tables and lamps just beg to be broken in this house.

I've had my eye on this (http://www.roomstogo.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=showRoom&roo_ID=1270) set for a while. :)

Nice! We were pretty impressed with most of their stuff, really--our second choice was pretty similar to that one, but it had a 'motion sofa' (recliners on each end).

We were hesitant about the tables too, but munchkin's pretty nice to furniture so far--we were more worried about the furniture being nice to her! :)

Well yeah, of course becoming a father helped in that respect too! But you know, going so long just having a mish-mash of furniture, and now we're getting an actual living room set! Like old people have! :)

I wondered if anyone would get that reference. :) I despise rampant consumerism, I really do. But I also appreciate the joy of having a nice, comfy couch. :) At least it isn't Ikea, I guess..
