Chooooke!

So munchkin had her 18-month birthday yesterday, and her present was a trip to the pediatrician. :) Still doing just fine, of course--she's up to the 8th percentile for weight! 60th percentile for height (32 inches!), and still 95th percentile for head circumference. She never 'performs' for strangers, but based on Heather's description of her verbal abilities, the doctor said she's about 18 months advanced in that respect. I think that's probably an exaggeration, but she's definitely advanced! She's gone from just naming things and using single words to putting words together, so instead of (for example) just pointing at something and saying "want", she'll tell us what she wants. "Want apple juice." And of course she can name more animals than most college students. Smart kid! Perhaps her most disconcerting quirk is that she loves to choke things, mostly the cat and her toys. We should break her of that, but she doesn't squeeze hard, and the way she squals "Chooooke!" is too cute. :)

What else.. Heather's meeting me here at work this afternoon so we can head directly up to the property we're interested in buying. There we should meet a realtor with the key to the house, so we can take a better look at the inside and maybe work on an offer. We're hoping it's not a very high-demand area, where we're looking, and we're further hoping that the current owner (who apparently lives out of the state) is looking to unload the property enough that they'll take the first decent offer that comes along. They're selling it 'as-is', probably because of the illegal dumping that's taken place there, so maybe they just want to cut it loose. We'll see!

Okay, back to work. Gotta have something to show the boss at our meeting this afternoon!
