Since I have a couple Australian friends on here, allow me to be among the first to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

And maybe hit you up for a favor. :)

See, the wife and I rather enjoy watching well-done period mystery/detective television shows, and you Aussies have a really good one in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on ABC. I've been able to download all the episodes, but on the show's YouTube channel there are a number of short behind-the-scenes videos that we would love to watch, but unfortunately (and stupidly, imho) they're region-restricted to prevent viewing outside of Australia. Australian proxy servers seem few and far between, so I haven't yet had any luck in my attempts to get around the restriction. So I'm wondering if one of you might be kind and savvy enough to snag the videos from the YouTube channel for me and put them somewhere I can download them. If not, no worries, it isn't the end of the world. I just hate that they're out there and we can't see them! :)

I would like to see the episodes too, but I'm in the U.S. I've only seen one episode so far. I looked up Essie Davis, so she really is Australian (Tasmanian) The ABC has produced other series before (the first Miss Marple) to TV, but there they used British actors.

It's a really well-done show--well-written, great cast, good acting, overall excellent production values. My wife has read a few of the books the show was based on and liked those as well. I think it's on Netflix, at least the first season, but I've downloaded both seasons via torrents because I'm a naughty boy. ;)

Thanks! But the show itself is no problem, that I already have--I'm trying to get the little behind-the-scenes videos they post on their YouTube channel, which are (for no good reason I can figure) denied to non-Australian viewers. I'll keep trying! :)

Yup, but Australian proxies seem to be quite rare--apparently the bandwidth to run them is too expensive Down Under. That site doesn't have any, and the few I found didn't work. I was hoping UK proxies might work since Australia is still under the crown, but no dice. :/

Try https://hola.org/

I don't have a lot of luck with it on YouTube, but in Canada we have sooooo many videos restricted from the US. This add-on has support for numerous countries so you might be able to mask yourself as an Aussie to get the show :)

Worth a try, and it acted like it WANTED to play, but it pops an error after a minute or so of waiting. So close! :)

It's really good, isn't it? My wife says the books are pretty good too, I think she's read about 6 or 8 of them now. We're in the middle of season 2 at present, but we couldn't resist watching the Christmas special, which was quite good too. :) I think they signed on for a 3rd season already, we sure hope so.

Meanwhile, only 2 days to Sherlock! :)

I didn't realize it was only 2 days to Sherlock! YES!!!

Also didn't know that Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries were books! Going to have to get a couple to read!

Yep! Kerry Greenwood is the author, and looks like there are about 20 books so far. I think the first season used a lot of the plots from the books (with some other subplots thrown in), and the second is more independent stories using the characters, if that makes sense. Good stuff, though!

We can't wait for Sherlock! Did you see the mini-episode that the BBC put out recently as a bit of a tease leading into Sherlock's return? Just in case...

I did not see the mini-episode! Then again, I don't have cable, just Netflix.
