Good morning, LJ folks!

Feeling guilty again for making my journal so vaguely interesting for the past few weeks, and then all of a sudden there's nothing. But actually, if my journal is to be a reflection of my life, that's been pretty accurate. Anyhoo, been working since Thursday, and haven't really had anything worth writing about.. yet. Maybe working on that.

Though this cracked me up: an employee at work was leaving and said, "I'll be right back." And another manager replied with, "Okay, I'll be left tackle." Gotta use that one sometime. :)

Okay, off to work.. again..

I know this is ancient history, and doesn't matter even if I were one to be even vaguely political. But since I am a Floridian by birth, and don't particularly want to be held responsible for the nimrod currently in office, I felt I'd share this news story today. If nothing else, it's an interesting history lesson, you know?

"The Palm Beach Post... counted more than 19,000 overvotes, or ballots on which more than one vote was recorded for a presidential candidate. It concluded the net gain of votes for Gore would have been 10 times more than he needed to erase Republican George W. Bush's slim margin of 537 votes in the state."

Of course, in all this focus over less than a thousand votes in my home state, everyone sort of overlooks the most important fact, which was that Gore carried the rest of the nation by over half a million votes. Again, it doesn't matter anymore, but I sure feel priveleged to have been around to witness such a miscarriage.

Okay, I'll never be political again, I promise. :)
