Mmm, LEGOs.
Jul. 13th, 2001 10:45 amActually, the correct usage is LEGO bricks or LEGO pieces or LEGO sets, etc.--LEGO is the brand, and isn't really supposed to be pluralized. But that's anal retentive, so we'll just say LEGOs, mkay?
Anyhoo, just decided to consolidate all my unassembled LEGOs (all neatly baggied, mind you!) into a bigger box. Thought I should memorialize the occasion. I seem to have collected a few LEGO sets since I got back into it a couple years ago. What do you think?

Mind you, this particular picture is just the pile on the floor--it doesn't include the sets assembled in the living room or in my room, really, and even cuts out the big plastic tub of LEGOs sitting on my computer chair. Not to mention the shoebox full of train tracks! Sheesh.
Of course, one might ask, why do you have so many damn LEGOs that aren't put together in some way, shape, or form? And that's actually a big part of why I want my own place before long--I notice that there are certain things I don't do when I don't really feel like a place is my home, and one of those things is decorating with lotsa LEGOs. So there you have it.
I'm silly. :)

I first heard about this story when it happened last year, of course, and then I couldn't help but wonder if they ever found the guy and what happened to him. I figured he'd be lynched by militant poodle lovers (is that an oxymoron?) when they found him, but I guess the wheels of justice turn more slowly these days... I dunno, though, I love animals and all, but I'm not sure if I don't think 3 years is a bit harsh. Eh.
Nana nana na na.

Short Skirt/Long Jacket
-Cake
I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut and
Eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a girl with the right allocations
Who is fast and thorough and sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry, she's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility and picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt and a long... jacket.
I want a girl who gets up early (gets up early!)
I want a girl who stays up late (stays up late!)
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity (uninterrupted!)
Who uses a machete to cut through red tape
With fingernails (hey!) that shine like (ho!) justice
And a voice (hey!) that is dark like tinted (ho!) glass
She is fast (hey!) thorough and sharp (ho!) as a tack
She is touring (hey!) the facility and picking up slack
I want a girl with a short skirt and a long... long... jacket.
Nana nana nana, nana nana na na
I want a girl with a smooth liquidation (smooth liquidation!)
I want a girl with good dividends (good dividends!)
At Citibank we will meet accidentally (meet accidentally!)
We'll start to talk when she borrows my pen
She wants (hey!) a car with a cupholder (ho!) armrest
She wants (hey!) a car that will get her there (ho!)
She's changing (hey!) her name from Kitty (ho!) to Karen
She's trading (hey!) her MG for a white Chrysler LeBaron
I want a girl with a short skirt and a long... jacket.
