Weekend? What weekend?
Nov. 2nd, 2001 09:02 amYou know, I used to always really prefer working on the weekend. As I've always said, I prefer to be off when others are not. But it really isn't that way anymore, now that I have a girlfriend who I can only regularly see on the weekends! So it's not with much anticipation that I look forward to this weekend, in which I work every damn day. And twice on Sunday, practically. Grr. Oh well, she's coming over this evening anyway, and with luck she'll be waiting for me, nekkid in bed, when I finally get home. Of course, I can't do much about that, since I just need to get to sleep so I can be up again bright and early in the morning to go back to work.. But it's something to look forward to, anyway! And at least it means I'll get home at a decent hour tomorrow, and we'll have the evening to do whatever we like. Hooray for that. But then I go in Sunday for essentially allll day, and I don't really expect her to wait around for me on that one. Maybe she can bring food and we can have lunch at work, though. That'd be good. She's such a great girl.. hoping everything pans out with her and moving to Florida next year and all that!
Speaking of waiting nekkid in bed, I have a syntactical distinction to share, something I read a while back. Naked is when you don't have any clothes on; nekkid is when you don't have any clothes on and are doing something naughty. So here's to nekkidness!
And speaking of doing naughty things, anybody ever checked out Daily Confession? A web site for the Catholic and non-Catholic alike to publicly air their sins in an anonymous and titillating fashion. Thing is, reading through them I tend to think the vast majority of the confessors are far more proud than they are contrite. But then again, perhaps it's the forum that lends itself to that. Who would post their dirty laundry for the world to see if they weren't, in some way, proud of what they'd done? But that brings us back to our standard LJ discussion too, and if we write these journals for ourselves, as one would a private journal, or if the fact that we have (or delude ourselves by thinking we have) an audience is what dictates what we write. I think the latter, by now, should be the obvious and widespread conclusion.
Okay, enough for now. I am the proud owner of Shrek on dvd; envy me. And stay away from big bridges.
