Ha!

So probably everyone out there knows what happens when you go to Google, type in failure, and hit the I'm Feeling Lucky! button, right? New to me is what happens when you do the same thing with the word asshole. I dig the song! (Not entirely work-safe, by the way, but just because of the a-word I already mentioned, so..)

Hm so what's going on. Absolutely gorgeous weather this weekend, though today was a bit too breezy. I hope I don't say the same thing sometime in August, referring hyperbolically to a majot hurricane. I just have a bad feeling about this La Nina year, hurricane-season-wise. Anyway. Quite a theme park weekend! Friday night we got a jump on the weekend by heading to EPCOT for a walkabout. As an aside, I just want to mention that even though Disney stopped using EPCOT as an acronym (Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow, for those out of the know) and started using it as a proper noun (Epcot), I hereby declare that it will always be an acronym to me, and I'll always capitalize it as such. So there. The walk was chilly but nice. :) Saturday we headed to Animal Kingdom, again nice, though the animals weren't very frisky in the cooler weather. Then last night Heather, in need of a Mom's Night Out, went to a contra dance, whilst I met Holly and Chris down by SeaWorld. Thanks to a Latino music festival, it was apparently a crazy day there--the parking lot was literally overflowing, with cars parked in every possible place a car could fit as soon as one passed the toll booths. Luckily a lot of folks had left, so we found good spots, but I can only imagine what the place was like in the early afternoon. We stayed until closing, but that wasn't too long. Fun, though. We saw the Shamu show, and munchkin slept very soundly on my shoulder the whole time. Cute little thing.

I don't think I've updated much about munchkin lately! Not much changes from day to day, I guess, but it's amazing how much she picks up over time. She knows way more words than she should, frankly. I expect her first novel by the age of 4 at this point. Her latest 'thing' is a sort of neat-freak mode, a la Monica from Friends. If she thinks her hands (or ours) are dirty, she'll say "Dirty! Wash!" and get upset if we don't. Similarly, if she encounters trash on the floor, she tells us to "Throw it away" and again gets upset if we don't. She doesn't get all *that* upset, mind you--she almost never cries for real, just that pretend-whiny-cry stuff when she doesn't get what she wants. She only really cries when she gets hurt, like when she took a little tumble off the couch yesterday. Oops. :) Oh, she's also convinced that all her toys (and the cat) are always hungry and/or thirsty, so she makes them eat her pretend food. Silly munchkin. :) She also likes to sit at the computer and name the animals in the screen saver pictures I have.

Work is good.. this week I have all-day training going on Monday and Tuesday, and then all-day off-site leadership meetings Wednesday and Thursday. And when, I ask, will I get all the other stuff I have to do in a week done? Friday? Ha! Then next week I again have all-day training for 3 days, and an all-day off-site meeting another day. Gah! And THEN the next week I'm going to Dallas Saturday evening through Wednesday evening. And THEN Heather's sister will be here when I get back, and I'd like to take at least one day off to do something fun with her and Heather and Hermione. But that shouldn't really be a problem, as my boss is heading off to a long vacation in Hawaii and Vegas after the Dallas trip. Hopefully *his* boss will understand if I don't get a whole lot done in the next few weeks. Sheesh.

Okay, gotta go run back up to Sears. We bought a rotary tool (like a Dremel, y'know?), but they didn't give us the posted sale price. Shoulda noticed at the time. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
