I'm taking a half-day on Friday, so I'm actually well over the hump at this point. Whoo-hoo! We just had a fire drill, which was fun. It's actually a beautiful day, cool and sunny, so a forced march out to the parking lot was actually quite a treat. If this sort of weather could hang on through the weekend, that would be wonderful kthx.
Started playing Fallout 3 last night. I'm such a fan of the first two Fallout games (see icon), and even the Fallout Tactics game was pretty cool. My PC could use a bit more memory and a better graphics card to do the game justice, but it's still neat to see a 2008 re-visioning of that world. And I have to say the character design and development phase of the game was pretty sweet. You start at birth, where you set your gender and adult appearance, and then you're a toddler learning to walk and escaping your playpen, and you find a kids' book that doubles as a method of allocating ability points, and then you learn to converse and fight at your 10th birthday party (where you get your Pip-Boy!), and then at 16 you take a test that determines your skill tags. It was really a neat way of doing things. I'm not 100% sure I dig Fallout as a first-person game, so I might have to set it to 3rd-person view. Next time I get a chance to play it, that is. :)
I guess that's about it for now. Better get some of this month-end reporting cranked out!
