Yeah, it was a chunk of change, but about par for the course given the size I was after. The old one was a 42", this one is 48" (and yet not much larger on the whole, since it has a much smaller bezel around the screen). It's a good thing I don't care about 3D!
Thanks for the info on the other devices too--the Ouya sounds like it might be a strong candidate when I go to replace my little Asus home theater PC. If they'd move up to USB 3.0 I'd be all over that--I think the main performance bottleneck with my current HTPC is the external HDD, which supports USB 3.0 but the PC is only 2.0 so it ends up taking some time to load in filenames and seek files, etc.
