In other, more recent, news.. did you hear about those 13 coal miners trapped after a mine explosion in West Virginia? Apparently overnight the news media got unofficial word that 12 of the 13 had been rescued alive, and immediately went to press with that news. Not long after, it was confirmed that the news was actually just the opposite--12 of the 13 were dead. Yikes and oops. I dunno, not much more to say about that, other than the unimaginable roller-coaster-ride the emotions of those miners' families must have taken.

I've got a new lens on the way, just a cheap 50mm prime, but it's a pretty fast 1.8, so hopefully I'll have better luck with the polar bears next time! :)
