I think this is a great idea, so I'm spreading it in case you haven't heard about it.

Apparently not long ago a teenager was killed in a car accident and it took police 5 hours to get in touch with her mother. I'm sure that's just one of many incidents of its kind, so now on the Florida DMV website you can associate two emergency contacts (up to 3 phone numbers each) with your driver's license--then, in the event of an accident, the police can simply run your license and have a better chance of getting in touch with someone.

If I'm dead, it would probably be over 5 hours before the spouse even realized I (and child) was late.
If he's dead with me (and child), well then, problem solved, there's no one to notify anyway. The vultures will fall on the house and belongings eventually.

That's the point! Instead of him needing to call around the hospitals for you, the police kindly call him first! I put my Dad as the secondary contact, because if we all die together somebody ought to know so the cat doesn't starve. Even though I hate that damn cat.

Cat? Singular? What happened? You adopted 2 same as me, same time, same place. I wondered it they were from the same litter, even. Did one go after your lost cat?

Yeah, we adopted two siblings but one took off. Good riddance, he was terrible. His sister isn't much better, but she's stuck around. :)

Durnit, sorry, I knew I had comments I'd forgotten to reply to! I talked it over with the wife, but we have pretty bad luck with inflatables (especially with bad cats around!) so we wouldn't be interested. Thanks much for the offer, though!
