Python, I hardly knew ye.

Saw on the news today that today is the last day of operation for the Python, one of the roller coasters at Busch Gardens in Tampa. After this they start dismantling it, I guess to make way for something new and shiny. I'm of two minds about it, I guess. On one hand, it's really not a very good roller coaster by today's standard. It's quite short, rather uncomfortable, and not all that fast. But on the other hand, it's truly historic--it was the first steel coaster in Florida, ferchrissakes! And the first inversion on a coaster in the whole world! So it's tearing down a pioneer, really. But I guess its time has come and gone. At least I've ridden it plenty of times, so I didn't miss out. :)
Farewell, Python.
Farewell, Python.
