Stealing this from [livejournal.com profile] 3ducker1culter4. I don't do many of these, but I thought this was a pretty good one, and I'm feeling a bit bored and lonely today, so here you go. :)

0: Height
6'1" or thereabouts. Tall enough to reach the floor, as I like to say.

1: Favorite car?
Hm, that I've owned? I'd go with my current Ford Fusion. If I could own any car? Tesla Model S, easy. P85 model with Insane mode, if we're dreaming big. :)

2:Shoe size
Men's 12, usually. 13 sometimes.

3: Do you smoke?
Only when I'm on fire. Ha!

4: Do you drink?
Yes. Oh, you mean alcohol. No. Though I suspect I'd be a hilarious drunk.

5: Do you take drugs?
Only acetaminophen, typically. Am I boring or what?

6: Age you get mistaken for:
I'm old enough that it doesn't much matter. And as noted, I don't do much that requires an ID check anyway.

7: Have tattoos?
No. I can appreciate nice skin art, but I've never felt quite attached enough to any image or sentiment that I think I'd want it permanently applied, you know?

8: Want any tattoos?
See above. Could change, but I'm not counting on it. There's also my aversion to pain, so..

9: Got any piercings?
Negatory. Again, boring.

10: Want any piercings?
Haven't much thought about it, but I'd take that as a no. :)

11: Best friend?
My wife, corny as that sounds. I don't really have any real friends aside from her, though, which sounds terribly sad. There are colleagues here at work I consider friends, of course, but we don't do much outside of the office. There are people from my past I still keep up with, to varying degrees of closeness. But really no one who comes over to hang out, or who I go out to do things with. I'd kinda like to change that, really.

12: Relationship status
Married, happily for the most part. Our 13th anniversary is in about 2 weeks, and we've been together for a little over 14. Kinda hard to believe, but the math does check out. :)

13: Biggest turn ons
As far as being attracted to someone? Physically, I like nice hair, nice legs, nice eyes. Glasses are actually a plus in my book. Personality-wise, I like intellect, positivity, curiosity, humor, creativity, and generally people who don't take life and its pitfalls too seriously. Sexual turn-ons? Cliche, I know, but honestly whatever trips my partner's metaphorical trigger is good for me too.

14: Biggest turn offs
Willful ignorance, disrespect, unwarranted negativity.

15:Favorite movie
My all-time favorite remains the Shawshank Redemption.

16:I’ll love you if
You have an open mind and enjoy getting out and exploring whatever corner of the world in which we find ourselves.

17: Someone you miss
I don't tend to dwell on missing anyone in particular, but there are definitely bygone times in my life (and people associated with those times) that I miss.

18: Most traumatic experience
I've never really been in an accident or had any serious injuries or illnesses, so I guess I'd go with my parents' divorce, when I was maybe 8 or 10. I know that's had fairly serious repercussions on my personality.

19: A fact about your personality
I'm pretty easygoing, but I realize it's sort of a facade. Outside I put on a happy face, and indeed I am generally a happy fellow. But behind that I tend to be pretty self-deprecating and overanalytical, and generally draw the worst conclusions about myself and how I'm regarded.

20: What I hate most about myself
How much time do you have? No, seriously there's not that much. I think I'm a pretty decent fellow, and not too much a waste of oxygen. I just wish I had more backbone when it comes to dealing with other people, and more motivation when it comes to doing the things I'd like to do with my life.

21: What I love most about myself
I put myself down a lot, internally and outwardly, but I know I'm a pretty smart guy. I'm a doormat but I'm a NICE doormat. I can be pretty funny. I tend to put others ahead of myself, though that cuts both ways. And I'm fairly decent on the guitar. :)

22: What I want to be when I get older
What, I'm going to keep getting older?! I did not sign up for this. I guess I want to be me, but better. Easy, right?

23: My relationship with my sibling(s)
I have a real sister who I generally despise. We were always very different people, and I just don't have a lot of respect for her. And I have a stepsister who made my life miserable when we were younger, but got a lot better after that. I don't stay in touch with her as well as I should, though.

24: My relationship with my parent(s)
Pretty good, I guess. My mom lives about an hour away and we see her every month or two. My Dad moved just far enough away that seeing him is a hassle, and he tends to keep to himself when he's involved in a relationship, which he is. So we don't see him much, unfortunately. Need to remedy that soon.

25: My idea of a perfect date
Most anything as long as the company is good. Dinner and a movie are fine, a hike in the woods or around a zoo or something is even better. :)

26: My biggest pet peeves
It generally comes down to disrespect. I don't like rude people, loud people, people who litter, people who drive like the roads belong to them, and on and on and on.

27: A description of the girl/boy I like
I guess that would be my wife. :) She's beautiful, full stop. I mean that in every way. Physically she is, and certainly more than I had any right to get. But more importantly, she's smart and caring and just plain good. She has her rough spots, as do I. But I know enough to know that I couldn't possibly ask for a better wife.

28: A description of the person I dislike the most
There's no one person, really. If I dislike someone, I tend to stay as far away from them as possible. Thankfully there's no one in that category with whom I am forced to interact regularly.

29: A reason I’ve lied to a friend
Can't think of anything serious.

30: What I hate the most about work/school
My job is fine. It's not what I expected to be doing, and not really what I'd like to be doing. But it pays the bills and that's pretty important.

31: What your last text message says
I don't text much, really, because I kinda hate it. There's one friend who I text with because she doesn't have a working PC, though. She was saying she didn't want to take her kids to a local park because criminals hang out there, and I said "Shame that punks hang around parks!" Exciting. :)

32: What words upset me the most
Individual words, none really. Words are just words, they only have what meaning and power we give them. But I am upset when I see words used to deliberately mislead and misinform. Which means as someone of a political bent, I am upset a lot. :)

33: What words make me feel the best about myself
I like any words of appreciation and esteem, who doesn't?

34: What I find attractive in women
I think I already covered that in turn-ons. :)

35: What I find attractive in men
I'm pretty firmly heterosexual, but in terms of what sort of guy I like to hang out with? Pretty similar to the personality traits I like in women, or anyone else--smarts, humor, positive attitude, open-mindedness.

36: Where I would like to live
Orlando's not a bad place to be, so I can't say I'm eager to move. If I did, though, somewhere like Burlington VT would be high on my list. I lived in Nashville and in the Texas Hill Country, those were both quite nice as well. And I've always felt drawn to Oregon, for some reason, though I've never actually been there. Need to go check it out someday!

37: One of my insecurities
I'm not good enough. I'm not living up to my potential. Other people think I'm completely unremarkable and dispensable and unlovable. Oh wait, you said just one. So pick one. :)

38: My childhood career choice
I was an 80s kid who grew up on 80s TV and movies. So TJ Hooker and CHiPs made me want to be a police officer. Jaws made me want to be a marine biologist. Airwolf and Top Gun made me want to be a pilot. My Dad working out at the Kennedy Space Center made me want to be an aerospace engineer, so I went with that when college rolled around. But after a couple years I realized I just didn't have my heart in it, so I switched to philosophy just to finish my bachelor's in something. And would up here, middle-management peon in a cable company. Wait, what was the question again? :)

39: My favorite ice cream flavor
When we go out for ice cream, I usually get a scoop of chocolate (the darker the better) and a scoop of coffee (java chip if possible). But otherwise I like cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, rocky road, pretty much anything that's not funky. :)

40: Who I wish I could be
As above, I'd say me, but better. Me without the insecurities and with more assertiveness. It sounds easier than it is, somehow.

41: Where I want to be right now
I'm getting paid to sit here and write this, so I guess that's a pretty fair deal. :) But if it's nice outside--I'm really not too sure, unfortunately my office has no outside windows--I'd love to be out in the woods somewhere.

42: The last thing I ate
Frozen dinner for lunch. Something with ziti and sausage. It wasn't very good.

43: Sexiest person that comes to my mind immediately
Jenna-Louise Coleman, who plays Clara on Doctor Who. She may be the prettiest girl in the world as far as I'm concerned. And accents are sexy. I like her more natural look than her high-fashion look, please note. :)

44: A random fact about anything
Oh jeez. I rather enjoy little historical tidbits that make you say huh, so let's go with this. The shopping cart was invented in 1936, and the shopkeeper who invented it had to pay people to push the carts around his store and pretend to shop so the regular customers would get the idea and start using them. :)

I have so many of those same feelings and values, as I guess you know from my version of the meme. It's funny how people so far apart can be quite similar :) I'm definitely returning the favour, though - you are more than enough, sir!

Much appreciated. :)

Wait. The person who invented the shopping cart had to convince people to use them?! That seems like a no-brainer to me!

I didn't realize you were so tall. Your response reminds me of something my dad said to me when I was a kid when I would ask him how long his legs were: Long enough to reach the ground! :)

Your description of the girl you like is sweet. I'm sure she would really appreciate it.

I know, isn't that fascinating? Apparently the men felt too macho to use the carts, because only wusses can't tote their own basket. And the women seemed to think it was too much like pushing a baby carriage, which they didn't much care for either. They had to see the things in use to decide maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. :)

My Dad is (well, was--he's maybe shrunk an inch or two over the years) 6'4", so I didn't quite reach that. But I do enjoy being tall, I must say. :) And to go with that I have fairly large feet, which of course just means I have a good understanding. Ha!

The 13th anniversary of our marriage is next week, I'll have to tweak that a bit and send it to her somehow. I can't say our relationship is particularly ardent or romantic, which bugs me from time to time. I never can tell how she takes sappy stuff like that, but I suppose that shouldn't prevent me from being sappy, right?

Huh.. That's so odd! I hate navigating with the cart, but it is certainly better than a basket.

Ha! My dad is 6', my mom is 5'2". I'm 5'6". Definitely glad that I am kind of in the middle there. I enjoy being taller. :)

Well early congrats! Isaac and I will be celebrating our 7th next week, too. :) I will say that I am not particularly sappy day-to-day, however if Isaac said something like that to me I would melt. I don't need flowers or candies or whatever, but a few very sweet and genuine sentences would sustain me for years.
